The Mississippi primary is over and Obama has cruised to a win there. John McCain, on the Republican side, has won handily garnering nearly 80% of the vote.
Now, I suspect that Mississippi went for Obama based on his race. I don't have the polling data to support that. It's just a hunch. But what I do know is that, yet again, the men of the Democrat Party stayed home. 42% of the voters in the Dem primary were males, 58% were females. And, no, primaries are not directly relevant to the general election in terms of participation. Massive Dem turnout for primaries has often translated into less than stellar numbers once the November election occurs.
But I wonder how this is playing out in Democrat homes across the country. As the women march to the polling sites to cast their votes for the candidate of "Change, Hope, and Unity" *kaff kaff*, or to vote for the candidate of "Screech, Anger, and Lies" *heheheeee!*, the men seem to dither and then not bother to vote at all. The Democratic Party has become Feminized, at least during the Primary Season. And that's not a good thing. The Party needs leadership in a time of troubles around the globe. But what it's getting is the same old socialist garbage with a new coat of paint. So the men show their apathy and remain home. This cannot be good for old-time, true Liberal Democrats. But it's Manna for the New Leftist who now controls the Democrat Party.
Regardless who takes the nomination of the Dems I think this apathy will play out well for John McCain and even the Republicans in general. Once the electorate sees and hears the Democrat candidate speaking the same old losing, Socialist platitudes and realizes just how empty their promises are, America will "McGovern" them out of office.
I could be wrong. I have been before. But if McCain speaks to the historical record of Socialism, displays the ugliness, emptiness, and economic despair that comes with Socialism, I'm betting that Americans will "Just Say No!"
That's what I think, anyway.

I hope you are right, Benning. Right now, however, it seems the GOP voters are the most apathetic of all.
Brooke, I think we may be less apathetic than pooped. We were supporting other folks and now we've come down to "other" for our candidate. Besides, come November, Republicans will fight for McCain and against Hillarack Obamton.
I agree. The kind of ordinary Americans who are my neighbors don't want socialism and most of them are Democrats. Even they will vote for Mac.
I find it curious that Obama is doing best in Red States. He is winning the states that are most likely to go McCain. (Some exceptions but that is the general pattern.)
Maybe because he's a pretty man? ;)
I dunno. He seems to do better in states with large black populations and in states that hold caucuses. After all, if you don't have a secret ballot, everyone knows if you're a racist or not.
hiya Benning!..The Democratic Party has become Feminized, at least during the Primary Season...if this is true, they must really luv good ole Michelle who is FINALLY proud of her country..what tools!..great post !
Tools fits, Angel!
I know Democrats who say they wouldn't vote for Hussein or Hillary under any circumstances, and will probably go with McCain, which makes sense: he's closer to being a sort of conservative Democrat than he is a Republican.
He'll certainly get more Democrat votes than Nader would.
"My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you’ll join with me as we try to change it." — Barack Obama
Brilliant!!!
LOL regarding the above comment! Obama actually said that? ROTFALMBO! That's so incredibly stupid.
Seth: Today I will settle for a Consrvative "Democrat" rather than either of the Socialists running for the Democrat Nomination. Thus McCain gets my vote.
Camo: Brilliant, indeed! LOL
Gayle: It wouldn't surprise me at all!
Depends on if the voting population drinks the "change" kool-aid without knowing what's in the pitcher...
Tom, I think the ingredients are starting to be made public. And they're not as good as some folks thought they were.
; )
wow! Just...wow.
I think if Hillary had the suddenly "I'm speakin Nowth Caraliena" Oprah Winfrey, would she (Hillary) then have the lead in this 'race'?
Heck I'm voting Ross Perot! LOL
With the varmints in the stew, we're fried citizens! Joni
Gotta say this much regarding our election. I got the joy of welcoming my fiancee home from Afghanistan during the week of our elections in Mississippi, so I voted absentee for Duncan Hunter!
Our primary election drew three times more people than have ever voted in a general election, what do you make of that? Here's what I have. It was a bunch of college kids that have never voted before that showed up and overwhelmed the largely racist Democrats in our state. Kids are really dumb.
Two Dogs: I'm glad Bean is home! Great! Kids love to vote that first time, but they usually start to wise up when they begin looking at their paychecks and wonder who's taking all their money out of them. Then they vote a little smarter.
Joni: Hillary has tried that phony accent thing before, The press seems to ignore it. I dunno if people who support her like it or not! Too many varmints! Way too many varmints!
