Remember America's Veterans

Hat Tip to Camojack!

Veteran's Day, November 11, 2006.

"It is the Veteran, not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion.

It is the Veteran, not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the Veteran, not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the Veteran, not the campus
organizer, who has given us freedom to assemble.

It is the Veteran, not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the Veteran, not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote.

It is the Veteran,
who salutes the Flag,

Eternal rest grant them O Lord, and let
perpetual light shine upon them."

Read the rest, and don't forget the men and women who stood - and will stand - between America and her enemies. Our Veterans.

It is my hope all Veterans receive what they need, including love and respect. They have done so much.

FYI...that poem isn't mine; I gave up trying to find out whose 'twas.
(And I did try)

It sums things up nicely, though...

Well, even if it is not Camojack's or Benning's, may I draw attention to the fact that both saw fit to share it with all of us.

Thank you and I will reiterate my wish also that each of our veteran's receive God's blessings.

That is a lovely poem. God Bless American and Canadian Veterans.

Concerning respect for the American military there is a picture that is truly worth a thousand words in the Sat/Nov/11 post "A Thousand Words" at
Fine Dry Wit
